Youth Employment Outreach Initiative

Regina Work Preparation Centre is proud to now be offering services specific to Youth, as well as Youth Serving Organizations. The Initiative is funded through the United Way Tomorrow Fund, with additional support from Career Focus.
Under this initiative, Work Prep will offer individual employment counselling for youth between the ages of 16 - 29 who are transitioning to employment or training, and would like support and direction. Our goal is to help youth transition into employment or education successfully.
The vocational counselling service is open to those between 18 - 29 who are not on Saskatchewan Assistance Plan (SAP) or Transitional Employment Assistance (TEA) and open to any 16 - 17 year olds. Those who are on SAP or TEA can also come to Work Prep by getting a referral from their worker.
Another aspect of the initiative is working in the community with other organizations in their youth employment focus. Work Prep can provide presentations and workshops around employability and employment; we would adapt materials to meet the needs of the agency as specified by them.
Our hope is to link more youth serving organizations together, and provide youth employment services to organizations that may not have the resources to do it all on their own.
All services listed are free to both individual clients and other community agencies. Any person or agency interested can call the Regina Work Preparation Centre for more information. Ask for Maranda (Youth Employment Outreach Co-ordinator).
